About the Role
Canvas is hiring a Deputy Manager (Senior Level) for one of our clients operating in the residential care sector in the UK. The role involves supporting the Care Home Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high standards of resident care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, hands-on experience in care home management, and a solid understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and staff coordination within a structured care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day operations of the care home
- Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
- Supervise and guide care staff while maintaining effective rota management
- Monitor care plans and ensure quality care delivery for residents
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards and health & safety regulations
- Assist in staff training, performance management, and operational coordination
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience within a care home setting
- Experience managing or supervising a care home with at least 25 beds
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or currently working towards it)
- Level 3 Safeguarding Adults certification
- Training in MCA & DoLS
- First Aid & Medication Management certification
- Strong leadership, compliance, and team management experience
